Our vision is for a future where everyone has equal access to justice, and women and children are free from domestic and family violence.

At South West Sydney Legal Centre, we provide free and accessible legal services to our community and empower women and children to break the cycle of domestic and family violence.

Every year, demand for our services increases. We support women experiencing domestic violence, pensioners who cannot afford fines, workers who have been unfairly dismissed from their jobs and people from non-English speaking backgrounds who may not know what their rights are. 

How we make a difference: 

• Free services help women and children to escape domestic violence and live safe, independent lives – including court representation, safety planning and connecting them with services like housing and health
• Free legal advice for people who cannot afford a lawyer
• Educating people about their legal rights
• Advocating for changes to laws that are unfair

How your gift can make a difference:

• $30 could buy a Christmas gift voucher for a child experiencing domestic violence 
• $60 could pay for a hamper of essential items for a family affected by domestic violence
• $100 could pay for a gift card to buy groceries for a woman and her children who are escaping domestic violence
• $500 could pay for temporary accommodation for a woman and her children who are escaping domestic violence
• $1,000 could pay for the cost of a barrister representing a financially disadvantaged client

Every dollar you donate can help pay for the gap between the amount of funding available from government and the cost of meeting the increasing need in our communities for legal help and for domestic violence support and advocacy.
