Flooding is affecting Tasmanians, especially in the New Norfolk area. The Anglican Church has launched an appeal to help those in greatest need with relief and recovery.

There has been tragic losses in the area, as a result of rapidly rising floodwaters. Experience shows that Government assistance and insurance payouts can go only so far in meeting the needs of those hardest hit by disastrous weather events.

All funds contributed to the Anglican Tasmanian Disaster Fund are tax deductible and will be distributed directly through Anglican parishes in the worst affected areas.

Parishes in flood-affected areas which believe they could use funds for immediate relief or ongoing recovery are invited to contact AHW’s Acting Executive Officer, Paul Hueston, at Paul.Hueston@health.tas.gov.au or the Diocesan Registrar at registry@anglicantas.org.au
