Trust for Nature is a non-profit organisation that has helped to conserve privately owned natural bush for over thirty years. As such we depend on the generosity of the community to support our conservation work. By supporting our Bush Protection Program, and pledging an annual donation, you will be making a practical contribution towards saving some of Victoria's most precious areas of natural bush.
Why is an annual donation important?
Your ongoing commitment gives us the financial security to plan ahead and develop important conservation goals. Funds raised through the Bush Protection Program allow us to:
- work with landholders to permanently protect their bush with conservation covenants
- be vigilant in identifying key properties for conservation, such our latest purchase of the renowned Ned's Corner Station. Situated on the Murray River 80km west of Mildura, Ned's Corner is 30,000 hectares (73,000 acres) of rare landforms and threatened ecosystems.
- assist landholders to seek financial assistance for their conservation work
- apply for grants from philanthropic trusts and governments
- work with other conservation organisations to pool our expertise and resources for the greatest biodiversity outcomes
- publicise the importance of private land conservation as a crucial part of overall biodiversity protection
