The Big Issue is Australia's longest-standing not-for-profit social enterprise. We exist to provide employment opportunities and support for people experiencing homelessness, marginalisation and disadvantage. Our programs include The Big Issue magazine, the Women's Workforce, The Big Issue Classroom and the Community Street Soccer Program.
Our programs provide opportunities for people to earn a meaningful income as well as build a connection to the community and a capacity to help themselves. The people we support come from a range of backgrounds including homelessness, mental illness, long-term unemployment, intellectual and physical disability and drug and alcohol dependency.
Funds donated to The Big Issue Australia will be used to support the day to day operations of our many programs, continuing to provide a chance for people to help themselves.
