Since 2013, Think+DO Tank Foundation (TDTF) has been working within local communities in low-income parts of South Western and Western Sydney, co-creating artistic projects and social enterprises in which creativity and collaboration are a driving force.
Our Foundation addresses urban disadvantage and catalyses positive change using arts-centred and replicable approaches to improve social cohesion; reduce isolation; strengthen community capacity; and foster equity. We explore how arts-based approaches can shift systems that reinforce poverty.
Through projects such as Lost In Books, The People Movers, Against The Tide, and The Motion Room (archived), our work amplifies the stories of people and their places, in their own languages and in English. We connect high-calibre creative artists with pressing social questions, asking them to inquire into those questions and experiment, alongside local people, with possible responses and solutions.
The Think+DO Tank Foundation takes deep expertise in social policy; an understanding of needs built at "eye-level" with communities; and the power of the arts, to enable the people in the communities where we work to strengthen their connections, and become agents in their own lives.
HUMAN CONNECTION IN ACTION. CREATIVITY WITH PURPOSE.
Our vision is of proud, creative, vibrant and connected communities that draw on the skills of local people to achieve shared community goals. Your donation will allow us to connect people, run programs with our partners seeking the most constructive solutions and realise our vision in the communities with whom we engage.
Through the kindness and generosity of our donors, we have built safe spaces, created opportunities and helped enrich the lives of individuals, families and communities from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds in Western Sydney and beyond, through languages, literature and art.
