Theatre Twyford is an exciting new cultural venue in Market Street Merimbula on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of NSW.
The purpose-built raked theatre is located adjacent to the existing Twyford Hall with a seating capacity of 199, two green rooms, a backstage loading dock, a lift-accessible foyer, control room, box office and theatre office.
The project has the support of state and federal local members, the local shire council, theatre and music groups, arts groups and community organisations.
In 2018, the NSW State Government announced a grant of 7.4 million from the Regional Communities Development Fund towards the cost of building the Theatre. These funds were released in February 2019 and building commenced in March 2020, however COVID and unforeseen costs for services connections increased the cost of the build. A further $2 million completion funding for the building was announced in November 2022.
Additional funding to complete the project will come from available funds of $200,000, community fund raising through tax-deductible donations like yours, sponsorships and grants from government sources.
When you donate to this fund, you are supporting the completion of the building and the fitout of the new 199 raked seat theatre.
The Twyford Hall Complex Ltd is on the Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO), is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and a registered charitable organisation with the ACNC. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
You’ll receive public acknowledgment of your donation on the home page of The Twyford's website and social media platform, unless you choose to remain anonymous.
Donate $1,000 or more to cover the cost of installing a seat in Theatre Twyford and your donation can be acknowledged by a small plaque with your name – or the name of someone you wish to honour – on a seat in the new theatre.
