The Victorian Pride Lobby is a volunteer run, not-for-profit LGBTIQA+ rights organisation incorporated in Victoria. Without any paid staff or physical office space, 100% of donations received are spent on campaigns and work aimed at achieving equality and social justice for the LGBTIQA+ community.
We are powered by the generous support of people who make donations to our organisation.
The aim of the Victorian Pride Lobby:
The Victorian Pride Lobby is a community based advocacy group that works towards equality, social justice and advancing human rights for lesbian, gay, queer, bisexual, and same-sex attracted Victorians.
The Lobby works together with, and lobby on behalf of, the whole community. We are a grassroots group that works alongside other community organisations and representatives of Government agencies to create positive change in the area of human rights and policy development.
Our current campaigns:
The Lobby frequently makes submissions to State and Federal Government, advocates on behalf of the LGBTIQA+ community, appears in the media, and meets with stakeholders to promote the rights and needs of the LGBTIQA+ community.
Some of our recent projects that require financial support include:
-Launching and coordinating the Rainbow Local Government campaign, the largest and most comprehensive Local Government campaign by any group and the first time there’s been a survey of local council candidates on LGBTIQA+ priorities.
-Creating and maintaining the www.RainbowVotes.com.au website, to platform and support LGBTIQA+ candidates running in the 2020 Local Government election and allow residents to make an informed choice about how to vote for a candidate that supports rights and inclusion of LGBTIQA+ people in their local community.
