Women's Health East (WHE) is a regional women's health promotion agency working across the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.
Working within a feminist framework, Women's Health East addresses the social, political and environmental factors impacting on the health, safety and wellbeing of women in the region. We build the capacity of services and programs in the region to optimally address issues affecting women.
Our strategic priorities are:
· Advance Gender Equality
· Prevent Violence Against Women
· Improve Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health
Some of the work includes:
· Shining a light on the gendered impacts of COVID
· Delivering programs to support women’s mental health & financial wellbeing
· Providing gender equity and prevention of violence against women training
· Supporting organisations implementing the Gender Equality Act 2020
· Leading and driving the first women’s sexual and reproductive health strategy in Melbourne's East
If you are wondering how much to donate, we welcome all donations large or small. Each contribution is valuable and greatly appreciated.
• $25 helps boost our social media posts to broaden the reach of our key messaging
• $50 helps pay for 2 hours of childcare so a local woman can participate in a COVID safe ‘Gender Walk’
• $80 helps cover the costs of operationalising the priorities and objectives identified in the women’s sexual and reproductive health strategy
• $200 helps cover the costs of an Auslan interpreter to ensure our training sessions are accessible and inclusive
• $1000 supports prevention of violence against women activities that elevate and centre the voices of lived experience
