There was once a time when our critically endangered Helmeted Honeyeater was found in large numbers feeding in Manna and Swamp gum forests from Yellingbo and Ferntree Gully, to the West Gippsland foothills around Korumburra.
Sadly, this is long gone and today only 250 critically endangered Helmeted Honeyeaters remain.
The Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater is the only volunteer-led group dedicated to preserving the critically endangered State Bird emblem.
They are up against significant threats, including lack of habitat, invasive species and climate change.
We need your help to give Wings of Hope to the Helmeted Honeyeater.
Your support will ensure we can increase habitat and support a breeding program that will result in multiple breeding colonies of Helmeted Honeyeaters, dramatically reducing the risk of extinction.
The future of the Helmeted Honeyeater is in your hands. Please support our efforts for a future rich in wildlife.
