The Women's Legal Centre ACT provides specialist legal advice and representation to women on a wide range of legal issues including domestic and family violence, family law, employment and discrimination, sexual violence, and migration matters. We maintain a holistic legal practice and also provide social work support to clients who have other needs beyond their legal matter. 

Across Australia, there is a national crisis of violence against women and children. In the last year, there's been a 30% rise in intimate partner homicide. Separation continues to be a point of increased risk for women and children.

The Centre continues to be a reliable and safe space for women in Canberra to understand and exercise their legal rights.  We are here for women at any stage, we provide advice to support women understand the legal processes of separation and plan separation in way that is as safe as possible. The lawyer and social workers at the Centre work together to support women through the process and secure safe care arrangements for kids and fair division of property following separation.

The demand for our service remains relentless and consistent, secure funding & donations help us ensure we can continue assisting women & children in the community.
