Worawa Aboriginal College is a unique Aboriginal community initiative established in 1983 to address the specific needs of Aboriginal youth. Located on 65 hectares of land that was once part of the Coranderrk Aboriginal Station, the College is now proudly owned by Worawa Aboriginal College Ltd. As Victoria’s only registered independent Aboriginal community-controlled school and the sole independent Aboriginal secondary boarding school in Australia dedicated to Aboriginal girls, Worawa holds a special place in education.
Our integrated approach, centred around Education, Culture, and Wellbeing, is designed to support students from socio-economically marginalised communities who often face intergenerational trauma and grief. To address these complex needs, we provide on-site health and wellbeing services complemented by an extensive range of external medical specialists, allied health professionals, family welfare, and domestic violence support services.
Aboriginal culture is deeply embedded in all aspects of our College, from teaching and learning to campus care and Caring for Country initiatives.
However, to continue providing these essential resources and facilities, we need your help. Your generous donations will support the renovation of our buildings and facilities, ensuring that we can continue to offer a valuable secondary education grounded in both Aboriginal culture and academic excellence.
Please help us keep Worawa growing and flourishing. Your support is crucial in providing our students with the opportunities they deserve.
