YPT: 'For young people, by young people'

Young People's Theatre has teaching & performance opportunities for young people between the ages of 8 & 18 for more than 50 years.

The theatre is also a place where it's young members can be part of a very special and caring community. In this 'family' the members gain confidence, make life long friends and are treated with the utmost respect.

The theatre is primarily run by a unique team of volunteers. These volunteers dedicate their time and emotional energy into developing their young members.

Reuben Sutherland was a part of this very special community. Reuben was tragically killed on 30 March 2015 as he crossed the road after getting off his school bus. Reuben was only 12 years old.

Reuben was a very special boy who was loved by many.

Reuben's family has requested that any donation in memory of his life be made to The Young People's Theatre Newcastle 'as this was such an important place for Reuben.

Donations to the cause will raise much needed funds so YPT can continue to provide theatrical opportunities to young people.
